We all love apples. They come in really dashing colors and are quite delicious to taste.  Usually, thats where it all ends for most people.

There are a few great things and (probably not so great things) you should know about apples.

(1) There are over 7,500 varieties of apple worldwide. They also come in different colors too. Some apples appear deep red, green, golden and even yellow.

(2) Apples are one of the healthiest foods anyone can eat. Apples are loaded with Vitamin C's. They also score very high in fibre content. Very good in bouts of constipation to ease bowel movement.

(3) Apples contains high amounts of polyphenols which functions as antioxidants. Add this to its vitamin C content and its easy to see why apples are of great benefit in ailments such as asthma. they also provide assistance in body weight management and improved bone health.

(4) The skin of apples contain a lot of nutrients. Infact, almost half the content of Vitamin C in apples is present in the skin. So when eating apples, do not throw away the skin. Munch the skin with great delight.

(5) Kindly note that apples are high in organic acids, eating apples in excess may cause damage to your enamel due to its acidic juice. So draw the line in moderation. If you also suffer from stomach ulcers, do not eat apples in excess and do not eat too much apples on an empty stomach.

(6) Just before you grab that apple to eat, make sure you wash them properly as most apples will have pesticides on them due to modern methods of growing apples. So wash them well before munching. apple a day keeps the doctor away.
